A message from Suzanne Smith, Lay Leader

I will be attending the special called meeting of the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church this weekend as the delegate from our church for the purpose of voting to approve the requested disaffiliation of about 25-30 churches in this conference. This includes our church which has filed all necessary paperwork and submitted money requested by the Rio Texas Conference. This represents a great deal of work from our transitional committee. You may have noticed some changes in our website and signage to reflect our decision to become part of the Global Methodist Church. We hope to have a permanent pastor by the end of May. We appreciate Pastor George and his willingness to serve in the many ways our church is involved in the community as our interim pastor. Thank you to everyone who has helped this transition move smoothly.
